If
you’ve been avidly following
the supernatural trail cast by Bathsheba software’s phenomenally
successful fantasy game playing series The Elder Scrolls you will have
spent almost all of the past 4 years no doubt eagerly awaiting the
release of the 4th part in the as-yet seemingly unflagging series,
Oblivion.
The Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion inhabits the same universe as the past 3
but in doing so also advances not only the Elder Scrolls series
themselves but also fantasy gaming industry as a whole into a new
generation. Oblivion may
be the name of this particular game but its presence on consoles
worldwide looks like bringing anything but oblivion for not only The
Elder Scrolls but the industry as a whole.
Following directly on from its immediate predecessor Morrowind,
Oblivion is set as all Elder Scrolls games are, in the Province of
Imperial Tamirelic Cydriil. What follows are a hellish chain of
events, The Elder Scrolls
4 Oblivion as a title is a direct nod to this, whereby you as the
player begin the game languishing in an Imperial prison accused of
crimes unspecified but by some slightly unexpected twist of fate, it
of course should go without saying that upon entering the world of
Elder Scrolls you should immediately suspend reality, you somehow end
up sharing a room with the Emperor.
Whilst you are hob-knobbing with royalty the Emperors’ sons are
attacked by a team of would-be assassins. In the confusion that reigns
afterwards you take the opportunity to slip out with the escaping
blade gang and go on a mission to discover the Emperors’ hidden
heir. And so begins The Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion.
With the thrills, spills and all-round cracking game play that follow
as you take on your mission you can guarantee that The Elder Scrolls 4
Oblivion will not be the final part of The Elder Scrolls but merely
another high quality episode of an enchanting series.
