If
you want to become an oblivion vampire, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is
the perfect game to turn your character into a bloodsucker! Yes,
it’s true – there are two ways in which your character can become
a vampire. The first is to simply head into combat with vampires and
let them defeat you. Each time you are struck by one of these undead
you have a chance of getting the disease that will lead you to
becoming a vampire.
Another way to embark on your new career as a bloodsucking vampire is
through starting the Dark Brotherhood quests. Once you get going you
will be given an offer you can’t refuse: become an oblivion vampire.
This way, you can become a vampire without having to get into any
combat.
Once you have been infected it takes a bit of time for you to become a
full fledged vampire. In total, it will take you a few days to turn to
the dark side of the world of phlebotomy. Of course, if you try to
heal yourself in the three day window before you are a full oblivion
vampire, you will be instantly cured. However, once you are a total
vampire the only way to return to the human race is to complete the
vampire quests.
When you become a vampire your character will undergo some rather
interesting changes. First, as in most of the vampire movies, you will
have to drink blood from humans. In Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion,
vampirism has four distinct stages. If you want to stay in control of
your character you will have to feed regularly. Failure to do so will
result in the loss of control of your character. In addition, when you
are in the first stage of vampirism, you can walk around in the
daytime without getting hurt. Furthermore, you can talk with other
game characters without them treating you like an undead bloodsucker.
As you progress up the vampire ladder, you will become more powerful.
With this power comes some penalty, but if you are a total bad ass,
you can handle it. Remember, it’s all about enjoying role playing as
an oblivion vampire in one heck of a game!
