The
Continuing Success Of The Elder Scrolls Oblivion.
Oblivion is not the start of Bathsheba software’s ten year and
counting series “The Elder Scrolls”, though if its early success
as not only a worthy successor to Battlespire, Redguard and Morrowind
or to give them their full titles The Elder Scrolls 1, 2 & 3, but
also the advancements in technology used and ease of game play,
neither does it look Oblivion will be sounding the end for The Elder
Scrolls line despite its doom-laden name.
Where exactly Oblivion shall ultimately fit into The Elder Scrolls
chronicles only time will tell, but for the time being both Elder
Scroll addicts and newcomers to the scene have too much on their minds
battling through Cydriil and its surrounding areas to worry too much
about the future direction of the mega-selling series. Though you can
bet your lives that once they have mastered Oblivion their minds will
begin to wander towards The Elder Scrolls number 5 and what stunning
new graphics and gaming Bathsheba Software can dream up to keep them
hooked on The Elder Scrolls.
And the continuing success of The Elder Scrolls does seem to be a
theme for its makers Bathsheba Software at the moment because not only
are they celebrating their 4th hit Oblivion reaching the shops but
also the 10th anniversary of the series as a whole. To mark this
auspicious occasion they are giving away posters and other Elder
Scrolls and Oblivion themed goodies through both their own website and
others related to fantasy game play in general and The Elder Scrolls
and Oblivion in particular.
And the way things are going right now for The Elder Scrolls you
wouldn’t bet against Bathsheba Software having to throw a 20th
birthday party for The Elder Scrolls at least and neither should you
bank on Oblivion being the end for this very popular series.
