Unpredictable RPG With 360 Oblivion
The cliché 'Never set foot to a river, twice' holds true with Xbox
360's best-selling RPG game: The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion. 360
Oblivion is a huge game and in free form. Even if you spend hundreds
of hours playing the game, you would never do a side quest twice. In
fact, if you only want to do the side quest, such as joining the
guilds, you may do so and later on touch the main quest when you feel
like doing it.
Bethesda
introduced Radiance AI to 360 Oblivion. This is
the artificial intelligence scripts for non gaming consoles (NPC's)
such as a beggar on the streets, a centaur or Minotaur on the woods or
a citizen of Tamariel who has a trsyt at a nearby lake. These 360
Oblivion NPC's will do what they feel to do. If it is a Sunday
morning, a citizen of Tamriel may go to a church as it would normally
do. He may not go to the church if along the game you have interacted
with him and hurt him in the process. NPC's think for themselves and
act for self preservation.
These unpredictable NPC behavior and unpredictable quests put 360
Oblivion on top of the rest. Playing 360 Oblivion is like having a
touch of real life in a virtual box, you would never know what will
happen next. If you choose to halt your 360 Oblivion main quest and be
a Guildmaster of the Thieves Guild, you may do so but it is with an
accompanying reward or consequence, of course. Straying off course
won't be treated as if it were nothing. Just like in real life,
everything that you do (like postponing a dutiful job) will determine
what your fate will be.
